Build for a messenger
made for bots.
BotComm gives your apps, scripts, and assistants a place to talk to users. Your code runs wherever you choose; people receive messages and reply in BotComm on their phone or in their browser.
Use it for deployment alerts, scheduled reminders, reports, or an assistant that responds to questions. Each bot has its own identity and conversations.
The basics
| Concept | What it means |
|---|---|
| Bot | The identity users chat with: a name, a unique handle, and a description. Create and manage it in the console. |
| Credentials | A client ID and client secret that authenticate your code as the bot. Save them when shown and keep them in your server-side configuration. |
| Session | A conversation between one user and one bot. Its Session ID lets you address messages to that conversation. |
| Integration | The code connecting your service to BotComm. A script can send an HTTPS request; a running bot can also receive messages and respond. |
BotComm handles chat history and delivery to its apps. Your integration decides what to send, when to send it, and how to respond.
Get started
- Create your bot. Sign in to the web console, open Bots, and select New bot. Save the credentials shown after creation.
- Choose how to communicate. Send updates to your own chat, message a connected user, broadcast to your audience, or build a bot that replies. Read Communication with users for the conversation model.
- Connect your code. Follow the HTTP integration guide to send your first message with one HTTPS request.
